"Olivia's Mirror"
Such a ornery place to be,
When faced with self-procured adversity,
To doubt accumulative worth and ignore complimentation.
So to stay with the crowd, most choose to be unnoticed.
Such a doubtful place to stay,
Under the shadows of lies woven day to day.
Negligent murmurs of advice and belief.
To remain unseen is to lie in comfort.
Such a belittling place to wilt,
Rooted in hopes of futures she built.
One day will change, and with it, image.
That a reflection resembles commands from the unbelieving.
Such a dismal place to crumble,
The fallacy clothed in robes of the humble,
But still she treads toward the castle of lies
Assuring herself of what she fears most.
